WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY SURGERY?

What to do:

  • Arrange with a close friend or family to have a safe means of transportation to your house as you will be unable to properly drive or travel.

  • Bring any information which may prove important, such as identification, insurance information, and any information on prescriptions or allergies so you can assure all the correct information has been given to your dental surgeon.

  • Remove all make up, jewelry and piercings before coming to the surgery.

  • Bring a strong storage container for dentures, glasses, contact lenses, phone, etc. So that your dentist can safely place them away from your person to reduce the risk of these items becoming damaged, or have a family member or friend present who can hold these items for you.

  • Do not eat or drink anything, including water, candy, gum, mints or lozenges after midnight on the night before surgery.

  • Ensure you wear clothes which are loose fitting, comfortable and easily cleaned if stained.

  • ABSOLUTELY  NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOL OR SMOKING ATLEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR SURGERY
